Samsung to Submit Phone Samples to Apple

A few months ago Apple filed a lawsuit against Samsung for allegedly violating their patented products by deliberately copying the designs of their iPhone and the iPad.

The lawsuit if far from over, but the court had already have an initial ruling that requires Samsung to submit product specimens to Apple, especially those questioned in the lawsuit. In 30 days, Samsung must hand over original product samples, product packaging and all those including in the package kit when the products are purchased.

The products named in the lawsuit includes the Galaxy S2, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Infuse 4G, and 4G LTE or "Droid Charge."

According to Apple, Samsung had already changed some of their designs and that what they need are the original designs for Samsung products which they claim are drafted exactly after the appearance of Apple products.

Samsung shows retaliation by filing lawsuits against Apple in three cities Samsung has patents, namely Seoul, Tokyo and Mannheim, Germany. Samsung alleges that Apple is stepping over their patents in these key cities.

With Samsung required to send samples to Apple, are we seeing the future of mobile phone and tablet makers having to seek the permission of Apple to build products of the same category? Well, what do we know. This might just happen.
